Mikaela has been performing professionally with Ansuya's troupe, Yaleil, since 1999. Locally, she has had the opportunity to share her talents with the troupe all over California - from San Diego to San Francisco - in such festivals as the Sameda Fair, Cairo Carnivale, and Rakkasah, and at cultural events at the University of California Irvine and Santa Monica City College. She has danced with the troupe at Cafe Beledy, Cafe Des Artistes, Noura Cafe, the Ojai Arts Center, and other local bazaars, parties, and restaurants.

From Hollywood to Bollywood, Mikaela, along with Yaleil, have performed at the birthday party of celebrity Drew Barrymore and also at the launch party of the film "The Return of the Thief of Bagdad," (featuring Indian mega-star Chiranjeevi) in Madras, India.

In addition to dancing with Yaleil, Mikaela also performs solo at various events and private parties around Southern California. She has been invited to appear in events in Northern California, and has had numerous engagements in Manila and Davao, Philippines. As in India, Mikaela has been one of the ambassadors of belly dance in this region, as most of the audiences in the Philippines have never seen bellydancing before.
